There are two quite separate routes into Saudi Arabia and confusing them wastes the most time. Pilgrimage travel — Umrah and Hajj — runs through licensed operators and its own documentation, on a longer timeline. The tourist eVisa is a different, faster, largely self-service channel. Which one applies to you is decided by the purpose of the trip, and the requirements for each are not interchangeable.

What actually decides a Saudi Arabia application
Most Saudi travel we arrange is pilgrimage, and pilgrimage does not book like ordinary travel. Parties are often large and travelling together matters; the dates follow a religious calendar rather than a convenient one; and in Hajj season the binding constraint is availability rather than price. All of that argues for starting earlier than feels necessary and for booking the group as a group.

Female Umrah applicants under 45 may need mahram documentation depending on the current rules and circumstances. It is a requirement people discover late and it can hold up an otherwise complete file, so raise it at the start rather than at submission.
In Hajj season, seats run out before fares do
Around Hajj the limit is aircraft capacity, not price. Book as far ahead as your visa timeline permits, and for any group ask us to hold seats together rather than buying them one at a time and hoping.

No. A party quoted and ticketed together stays on one record, which keeps everyone on the same itinerary and makes any later change manageable. Booking seat by seat is how families end up split across two aircraft, and it usually prices worse as well.
