Türkiye visa requirements from Nigeria
Nigerian passport holders need a visa for Türkiye, and there are two channels with very different timelines. Some categories of Nigerian applicant qualify for the eVisa, which is quick and filed online; everyone else needs the sticker visa, which takes considerably longer and asks for more. Eligibility for the eVisa route is conditional, so the first useful step is establishing which of the two you are actually on.

What actually decides a Türkiye application
Istanbul earns its traffic twice over. It is a genuine holiday city, and it is one of the most practical sourcing markets Nigerians buy from — textiles, furniture, home furnishings — reachable nonstop from both Lagos and Abuja in around six hours. It is also among the world's best-connected transfer hubs, so a proportion of the travel through it is not really about Türkiye at all.
Check eVisa eligibility before assuming the fast route
The eVisa is available to some Nigerian categories rather than all of them, and it commonly depends on holding a valid visa or residence permit from another qualifying country.
