What actually decides a Brazil application
Brazil is a thinner route from Nigeria than the North American ones, and the travel splits between business, events, and a small amount of tourism. The practical consequence is that there is no nonstop and the itineraries are long, so the visa timeline and the flight planning need to be worked out together rather than in sequence.
Establish which channel you are on first
The eVisa is faster and materially cheaper than the consular route, but eligibility is conditional. Checking that before you start saves you either a wasted consular appointment or a fortnight of assuming the quick route was available.
Yellow fever certificate is required
It forms part of the application, not just the arrival check. The vaccination needs time to become valid, so get it early rather than in the final week.
Plan the flights alongside the visa, not after it
Journeys to Brazil from Lagos are long and connect at least once. Because the routing choices are limited, leaving the flights until the visa is issued can mean the sensible itineraries have gone.
